Stock Coil Outer Diameter

By default in starting point Digital Factories, aPriori assumes that the outer diameter of the stock coil is 1524 millimeters. Administrators can customize the default with the cost model variable stockCoilOuterDiameter.

Users can override the default on a per-part basis with the setup option Stock Coil Outer Diameter (defined on the Roll Forming - Coil node in the Process Options Editor). Users must enter a value greater than the value of the cost model variable stockCoilInnerDiameter (508 mm in starting point Digital Factories).

The cost model uses this value in the calculation of coil mass, which guides machine selection for the Uncoiler process. The cost model also uses this value in the calculation of stock coil length, which affects material utilization, batch stoppage time, and cycle time.
